The CCSU Design Program prepares students for entry into the complex and interconnected world of professional design practice by providing an advanced academic structure for Graphic and Information Design studies, including studio practices, technics, histories and theories of design, and other relevant related topics. The Design Faculty is comprised of professionals with backgrounds, experience, and currency in Graphic Design and Design related fields.

The Core Design Curriculum encourages and enables creative thinking, critical analysis, innovation, and effective communications in a challenging and collegial academic environment, with close relations to the professional field(s) of graphic and information design. Excellence in scholarship and practice are fostered in both undergraduate and graduate programs, through research, analysis, creative design solutions, practical experience, with an emphasis on community engagement.
