Angerlady Talk

Samantha Angermann finally came to Graphic/Information Design IV on April 4, 2023 to give a talk that was cancelled in March, 2020 at the very start of COVID.

Sam has many stories to tell about her life since graduating from SCSU in 2012.

A couple of internships, a short contract gig at ESPN, and a year up in Gloucester at a promotions agency led her back to New Haven, where she now resides with her dog.

As a designer at Box 8 Creative, a full-service creative agency that builds brands in the hospitably industry, she created some exciting campaigns for Sherkaan Restaurant in New Haven (behind the Apple store). And at the many locations of The Place To Be, another brilliant restaurant campaign, she suggested the addition of pole-dancing to the restrooms.

In the Spring of 2022, Angermann invited Information Design MA students to Sherkaan, an Indian street food restaurant she designed. ID MA alumni Ashley St. Pierre ‘22, Emily Rovillo ’23, and Kenzie Costello ‘22, were joined by Professors Jeanne Criscola and EleanorThornton for Happy Hour.

She is always thinking creatively with a big sense-of -humor and is currently a full-time Art Director and Designer. Visit her website.
