Wilcox Tech Students Dive into MLK Diversity Workshop

with AI-Driven Poster Creations & CCSU Campus Tour

Wilcox Students Use AI to Create Posters

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Collaborative Diversity Workshop, hosted by the Design Program at Central, provided students from Wilcox Technical School with an engaging collegiate experience. Organized by Design faculty in partnership with Wilcox Technical School, the event aligned with CCSU’s commitment to diversity, innovation, and social responsibility.

Students participated in a university tour, including hands-on sessions in the Design and VR lab. The workshop, centered around Martin Luther King Jr.’s question, “What are you doing for others?,” encouraged students to design posters that celebrate diversity and inclusion, using Adobe Firefly’s text-to-image generator

The event also provided opportunities for informal social engagement, with students sharing a meal at Memorial Hall, reinforcing the collaborative spirit. The Center for Community Engagement & Social Research and the Art and Design Department supported this initiative.
