CCSU @ Norwich Tech

CCSU Design Faculty Visit Norwich Technical High School to Build Creative Pathways

On February 5, Dr. Peggy Ann Bloomer, Assistant Professor of Art & Design at Central Connecticut State University, visited Norwich Technical High School to meet with students in the Graphic Design & Digital Media program. Hosted by Julie Watt, MFA, Department Head of Graphic Design & Digital Media, the visit focused on design education, creative career pathways, and opportunities for continued learning beyond high school.

During the visit, students participated in discussion around design practice, visual communication, and postsecondary study, demonstrating exceptional engagement, professionalism, and curiosity. The visit marks the beginning of a growing relationship between CCSU and Norwich Tech, with plans underway to welcome students to CCSU for a campus visit and to explore future dual-enrollment options as they continue to develop.

“I’m glad we are beginning this connection between our schools, and I look forward to building it further,” said Dr. Bloomer. “The students were incredibly well-prepared, thoughtful, and a joy to work with.”

This outreach reflects CCSU’s continued commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and expanding access to creative, career-ready educational pathways for Connecticut students.
